Transform Don’t Trash NYC
Private sanitation workers collect and process waste from New York City businesses. It was once a great job, like those in the City Department of Sanitation, but not anymore. Transform Don’t Trash NYC is a campaign to create living wage, safe jobs in private sanitation, while raising recycling rates and combating environmental abuses in New York City communities.
Working in coalition with ALIGN, New York Lawyers for the Public Interest, the New York City Environmental Justice Alliance, and other groups, the Teamsters are reforming New York City’s outdated commercial sanitation system.
